Principal Accountabilities

- Leads seed production management across the sub-region by planning, executing, and monitoring production operations to ensure optimal yield, quality, and supply reliability.

- Participates in the formulation of strategic and long-term supply management plans for Africa, including developing and executing the African growth agenda.

- Contributes to the African operating and capital budgeting process, ensuring financial targets for contribution and asset utilization are achieved, and develops annual sub-regional budget projections covering volume, price, quality, and timelines.

- Directs sub-regional supply management teams by developing and monitoring annual performance plans, resolving operational issues, communicating company objectives and values, and overseeing workforce development to achieve business objectives.

- Develops, negotiates, and maintains strong relationships with growers, government agencies, industry partners, distributors, and key customers to drive seed production and business growth.

- Approves and participates in the creation of operating policies and procedures that support company strategies and values while ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.

- Maintains effective collaboration with internal departments such as Research, Sales, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure alignment and long-term success of supply management operations.

- Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives across seed production and supply management processes to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery.

- Provides strategic guidance and support in risk management planning, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of supply chain and operational risks.

- Oversees procurement strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals, ethical sourcing standards, and cost optimization across local and regional supply chains.

- Analyzes market and industry trends to inform decision-making, participate in supply chain disruptions, and recommend adjustments to maintain competitiveness.

- Leads talent development and succession planning within seed production and supply management teams by mentoring high-potential staff and fostering a culture of accountability.

- Ensures accurate and timely reporting of seed production and supply chain metrics to support data-driven strategic decisions by senior leadership.

- Ensures all operations comply with internal audit requirements, external regulations, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards.


Requirements

- A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred, or equivalent extensive experience in a management environment.

- Additional training in agricultural row crops and seed production is highly desirable.

- Minimum of 10 years' proven experience in seed production, operational planning, and management, with expertise in:

    - Seed production planning and execution

- Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-functional teams and driving performance across production operations.

- Strong conceptual, analytical, and decision-making skills, with advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and interpretation.

- Proven ability to manage Cost of Goods Produced (COGP) and its influence on business performance.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).

- High computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

- Strong commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and problem-solving in dynamic environments.
