Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the under-listed job vacancies at Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council, Matabeleland North Province.
Vacant Posts:
1. CLINIC NURSE (RGN) X 3
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 O'Levels including English Language and any Science Subject
- Diploma in General Nursing (RGN)
- Diploma in Midwifery
- Valid Practicing Certificate
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Counsels and initiates clients on Family Planning methods
- Performs physical and pelvic examinations on new and old clients
- Gives lectures on Family Planning/Reproductive Health
- Deputizes and acts as Sister In Charge in her absence
2. STORES ASSISTANT X 1
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 O'Levels including English Language and Mathematics or Accounts
- Diploma in Logistics and Supply or Stores and Materials Handling or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience in a stores-related environment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verifies deliveries against purchase order each time a delivery is made
- Checks the condition of all goods delivered to the stores on point of delivery
- Updates all manual and computerized stores records daily by following the procedure manual
- Writes orders for all provincial requirements for rectification by the Accounting Assistant
3. NURSE AIDE X 1
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 O'Levels including English Language
- Nurse Aide Certificate (Entry grade)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Does damp dusting
- Cleans used instruments, packs, and autoclaves them
- Cleans and carbonizes examination couches
- Educates and motivates clients on family planning methods
4. YOUTH HEALTH ADVISOR X 1 - (Binga Lusulu Youth Centre)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 O'Levels including English Language and any Science Subject
- Diploma in General Nursing (RGN)
- Diploma in Midwifery (is an added advantage)
- Valid Practising Certificates
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Counselling on Family Planning and provision of Family Planning services
- Diagnosis and management of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
- Conducts health education sessions with young people
- Coordinates the activities of Peer Educators
- Supports the provincial team on advocacy and social mobilization activities
- Supervises and supports the Youth Facilitator and Peer Educators
5. COMMUNITY BASED DISTRIBUTOR SUPERVISOR X 2
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 O'Levels including English Language
- Primary Care Nursing Certificate (PCN)
- Valid Practising Certificate
- Class 3 driver's licence
- At least 2 years' experience in community health work
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and supports Community Based Distributors (CBDs) in promoting implementation of the CBD programme
- Identifies areas of need for CBDs and Depot Holders
- Draws up annual, monthly, and daily work schedules
- Collects revenue from CBDs, receipts, and banks revenue into Provincial accounts
- Identifies training needs, designs, and implements in-service training for CBDs
