The University is looking to hire candidates with the necessary skills and experience for the following positions within the Faculty of Science and Technology Education:
⦁ LECTURESHIP/SENIOR LECTURESHIP/ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP (2 POSTS)
Department of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education
POST A: (1 POST)
Applicants must possess at least a Master of Science Education Degree in Biology along with a minimum of one year of relevant teaching experience at a tertiary institution and should be able to facilitate lessons online. The ideal candidate will be tasked with teaching undergraduate courses in various subjects such as Cell Biology, Plant Physiology, Mycology, Diversity of Life, Genetics, Ecology, and Advanced Pedagogics in Biology Education, Genetics, while also supervising student projects. Demonstrated ability and experience in employing online and blended learning methods for course delivery is essential. Having a PhD will be considered an additional advantage.
POST B: (1 POST)
Candidates should hold a minimum of a Master of Science Education Degree in Computer Science along with at least one year of relevant teaching experience at a tertiary institution and be capable of conducting online lessons. The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate courses that include History and Philosophy of Computer Science, Introduction to Computer Science, Object-Oriented Programming, Advanced Pedagogics in Computer Science Education, Operating Systems, Computer Communication and Networking, Data Structures and Data Mining, as well as Artificial Intelligence Expert Systems, and supervise student projects. Additionally, proven experience and expertise in utilizing online and blended learning techniques for course delivery is mandatory. A PhD will be regarded as an extra advantage.
⦁ LECTURESHIP/SENIOR LECTURESHIP/ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP (1 POST)
Department of Technical and Engineering Education and Training
Applicants should have a Master of Technology Education Degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering or an equivalent qualification, along with relevant teaching experience. The chosen candidate will be expected to teach selected courses and oversee students’ projects in some or all of the following fields: Engineering Mechanics, Statics and Dynamics, Design of Structures, Thermodynamics, Industrial Instrumentation and Control, Hydraulic Design, and Materials Technology. The ability to employ online and blended learning techniques for course instruction is essential. A PhD will be seen as an additional advantage.
