Job Overview

The Office of the Master of the High Court of Zimbabwe is seeking qualified and experienced candidates to fill seven Trainee Accounting Assistant positions within the Department of Finance.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

- A degree in Accounting or a full professional qualification such as CAZ, CIS, or ACCA

- Competence in Pastel and SAP Accounting packages

- Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS)

- A relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage

- Membership of a professional body is an added advantage

- Ethical, honest, and responsible individual

- Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure with minimal supervision

- Strong interpersonal skills



Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Maintenance of cash and cash equivalents

- Management of cash books and sub-collectors

- Handling of debtors and creditors

- Processing documents into SAP system

- Recording and maintaining investments

- Capturing financial transactions into Pastel SAGE system

- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations

- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and statutory returns

- Supporting annual budget preparation and maintenance

- Attending to other duties as assigned
