Job Summary:
Marondera Rural District Council invites applications for the position of Mechanic (Grade 8). The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Council vehicles, plant, and equipment.
Key Result Areas:
- Perform routine inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on vehicles, plant, and equipment
- Advise on technical matters related to repair and maintenance
- Prepare planned maintenance schedules and costs
- Identify and repair mechanical issues and faults
- Certify outsourced vehicle maintenance works
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair works
- Monitor fuel consumption and conduct safety inspections
- Attend to emergency breakdowns and manage inventory of parts and supplies
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Journeyman Class 1 Certificate in Motor Mechanics
- 5+ years of post-qualification hands-on experience
- Clean Class 2 driver's license
- At least 30 years old
