Qualifications :

Applicant must hold a Bachelor of Science (honours) in Animal Science /Biological Science/Zoology/Freshwater and Fishery Science with at least a 2.1 pass 

MSc /MPhil in Aquatic Science and Aquaculture/MSc Aquatic Ecology/MSc Biodiversity Conservation /MSc Wildlife Ecology and Management majoring aquatic ecology/Fisheries or related field 

A relevant PhD in any related discipline or proof of PhD registration is an added advantage

Evidence of published research in the relevant field is an added advantage

Teaching experience at the tertiary level for at least one year is an added advantage


Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate should be able:

To teach any of the three of the following modules at undergraduate and postgraduate: Ichthyology, Limnology, Fish population Dynamics and stock assessment, Applied Aquatic Ecology, Fishing Techniques and Technology, 

To supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research projects.

To engage in collaborative research, University service and community engagement.

To establish partnerships with industry and other stakeholders including local communities.

To foster Education 5.0 through innovation and industrialization.

To participate in Departmental, Faculty and Institutional activities.

To provide academic leadership to the department.

To carry out any other duties as assigned by the Chairperson or Dean.
