Overview

The City of Harare is in search of a Telecommunications Administrator to deliver technical support for its communication systems.

This position entails the installation, configuration, maintenance, and assistance of telecommunication systems, VoIP, and corresponding hardware/software to guarantee dependable and high-quality telecommunications services for the city.


Key Responsibilities

Set up, maintain, and manage communication networks for both business and public access.

Install and provide support for servers, routers, switches, and telecommunication hardware.

Ensure the security of systems within WAN and LAN environments.

Quickly troubleshoot and resolve telecommunication problems.

Create technical documentation and reports.

Offer user training and assistance.

Monitor network performance and suggest enhancements.


Qualifications

A BSc Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline.

Cisco, Avaya, or Microsoft certifications are beneficial.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications support.

Familiarity with VoIP and unified communication systems.


Competencies

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Capable of working effectively in high-pressure situations.
