1.  FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE, ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

Department of Animal and Wildlife Sciences x1

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Animal Science, Biological Science, Zoology, Wildlife Sciences, or a related discipline, achieving at least a 2.1 pass. 

A Master’s degree (MSc/MPhil) in Wildlife Science, Biodiversity Conservation, Wildlife Ecology and Management, or a related area is required. 

Holding a relevant PhD in any associated field or evidence of PhD registration is considered advantageous. 

Demonstrable published research relevant to the field is also a valuable asset. 

Experience in teaching at the tertiary level for a minimum of one year is preferred. 


Duties and Responsibilities

The selected candidate should be capable of:

Teaching three out of the following modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels: Rangeland Ecology, Range Animal Management, Applied Terrestrial Ecology, Vertebrate Fauna of Zimbabwe, Conservation Biology, Wildlife Management Techniques. 

Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students during their research projects. 

Engaging in collaborative research, contributing to university service and community involvement. 

Establishing partnerships with industries and other stakeholders, including local communities. 

Promoting Education 5.0 through innovation and industrialization efforts. 

Participating in various activities at the Departmental, Faculty, and Institutional levels. 

Providing academic leadership within the department. 

Carrying out any additional tasks assigned by the Chairperson or Dean. 


2. FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE, ENVIRONMENT, AND NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Department of Agricultural Economics and Development  x 1

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics with a minimum classification of 2.1.

A Master’s degree (MSc/MPhil) in Agricultural Economics. 

Possession of a PhD or documentation of registration in Agricultural Economics.

Demonstrable evidence of published research in the relevant discipline. 

At least one year of teaching experience at the tertiary level. 


Duties and Responsibilities

The appointed individual will be capable of teaching any three of the following modules at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels:

- NGOs and Agricultural Rural Development

- Economics of Environmental Management

- Microeconomics

- Agricultural Development Economics and Planning

- Gender Studies in Agriculture

- Agricultural Extension

- Farm Business


To guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research projects.
