Description

This is a Senior Clerical position and the incumbent will be reporting to the Administration and Human Resources Manager within the Administration and Community Services Department. A person is needed for this position. The successful candidate must be a person of high integrity and honesty.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support the internal and external HR-related inquiries and requests.

- Assist with recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks and preparing and managing employment contracts for new employees.

- Assist with the performance management procedures for junior staff.

- Conduct interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.

- Perform orientation and update records of new staff.

- Process payroll and submit reports to the supervisors on general HR activity.

- Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

- Compile and maintain records of employee attendance and leave.

- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluation etc.).

- Updating and maintenance of the asset register.

- Verifying and updating medical aid, funeral and pension statistics.

- Supervision of other Clerks and general staff in the section.

- Arranging for disciplinary hearings in liaison with supervisors and heads of departments.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Psychology with a 2.1 degree pass (essential).

- At least three years’ experience in a busy Human Resources environment (essential).

- Possession of a post graduate diploma in Human Resources and/or Labour Relations is an added advantage.
