The Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the following vacant role:  


Position Title: Principal Executive Assistant  

Grade Level: G8  

Reports to: Executives Office  

Location: Head Office  


Position Overview:  

The chosen candidate will provide administrative assistance to the Executives Office, facilitating effective management of schedules, correspondence, and documentation.  


Key Responsibilities:  

- Oversee and update the calendar, coordinating appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, and engagements.  

- Prepare and organize materials for meetings, such as agendas and minutes.  

- Arrange travel plans and itineraries.  

- Serve as a point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.  

- Ensure confidentiality and protection of information.  

- Manage incoming correspondence and communication.  

- Organize and maintain files and records, ensuring adherence to Commission policies and procedures.  

- Generate reports, presentations, and other necessary documentation.  

- Order office supplies, provisions, and equipment as needed.  

- Welcome visitors, provide hospitality services, and carry out various administrative tasks.  

- Assist with special projects and initiatives as requested.

Job Qualifications:

- Organizing and categorizing all office documents through filing and indexing

- Assisting in the organization of seminars, workshops, conferences, and social gatherings


Required Qualifications, Experience, and Characteristics:

- A degree or HND in Office Management, Executive Secretarial Studies, Linguistics, English and Communication, or Business Administration/Management is a plus

- Demonstrated experience as an executive assistant or in a comparable administrative position

- Strong skills in organization and multitasking

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

- A high degree of discretion and confidentiality

- Familiarity with office software (e.g., MS Office Suite)

- Proficiency in English along with any additional vernacular language

- Capability to communicate effectively and manage confidential information

- An ethical, honest, and responsible individual

- Highly proficient with computers
