Introduction  

We welcome applications from qualified individuals to take on the role of Pastry Chef. The chosen candidate will be located at Montclair Resort and Conference. 


This position reports directly to the Head Chef. 


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  

- Prepares a diverse range of pastries, including cakes, cookies, pies, and bread.  

- Innovates new and exciting desserts to refresh current menus and capture customer interest.  

- Keeps updated knowledge regarding pastry arts and ingredients.  

- Capable of developing, designing, or creating fresh ideas and items for the Pastry Kitchen.  

- Decorates and showcases pastries and baked goods in an appealing and aesthetic manner.  

- Oversees inventory for baking materials like flour and sugar, making necessary orders while adhering to budget constraints.  

- Ensures the quality of baked goods aligns with established standards.  

- Guarantees adherence to food hygiene and health and safety regulations.  


PERSON SPECIFICATION  

- National Certificate in Professional Cookery.  

- Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role.  

- Strong-willed character with a high level of integrity.  

- Capable of working with minimal supervision.  

- Detail-oriented.  

- Possesses planning and organizational skills.  

- Well-groomed appearance.  

- Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation.
